While reading some blogs I came across this neat tool to turn any picture into ASCII art. In case you don’t know what that means, it basically recreates any picture in text format using letters, numbers, and symbols. Just for fun, I tried it out with a picture of myself, and I was surprised at how well the result turned out. Check it out:

We celebrated Thanksgiving in our apartment in San Francisco this year. My parents came out to San Francisco to join Emily and I for the big day. The food turned out surprisingly well, given our small-ish, galley-style kitchen. The turkey was cooked perfectly, Emily’s homemade stuffing was a big hit, and everything else was good too – mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, cranberry sauce, and wine (of course!).
Happy Thanksgiving!

So it is official – my brother is a married man. He and Nina tied the knot on Monday at Cave B Winery, which is right next to the Gorge Ampitheatre. It was a great ceremony and the location was a perfect match for the couple. I was entrusted with the important duty of ring-bearer (which is often left to the 5-year olds) and managed to not lose the rings (so I think it was a success!). I also made a slideshow of pictures of Jon & Nina which they showed during the wine tasting and reception after the ceremony. I was happy with the way it turned out, and everyone seemed to enjoy it.
Congratulations! And welcome to the family, Nina!
